Dear colleagues,
We are preparing a systematic review and meta-analysis on the retrieval-extinction (RE) effect, i.e., the implementation of extinction training during reconsolidation and its effect on the return of fear in humans and animals. For a comprehensive collection of data, we aim to also include unpublished research.
Therefore, we would like to kindly inquire our peers about unpublished preprints, articles under revision, in press, manuscripts or even bare data that doze in your file drawers.
Specifically, we strive to include human and animal studies that…
… are experimental in nature (between, within, or mixed)
… examine the effect of RE on experimentally acquired fear memories
… include at least one control condition of standard extinction (or a comparable control condition)
… include at least one test of return of fear, e.g., reinstatement
… include at least one behavioral measure of fear, e.g., freezing (for animal studies)
… or at least one physiological measure of fear, e.g., skin conductance response, fear-potentiated startle (for human studies).
In case you have unpublished research meeting these criteria, we would be very grateful if you could contact us until April 15th, 2022 (email to: giulia.stangier@uni-marburg.de).
Please feel free to contact us as well if you have any further questions or concerns about sharing your data.
Thank you very much in advance! We really appreciate you taking the time to consider our request.
Kind regards,
Giulia Stangier
